Horseback ride Cerro Ballena (Coming Soon)
Difficulty: High After crossing the Señoret channel we will get to the heart of Estancia Bahia Esperanza to start the horseback ride towards Cerro Ballena. We will be crossing through Coto’s ranch to beginthe ascent of Cerro Ballena with magnificent views of the UltimaEsperanza fjord and the the Southern Glacier Ice Fields. Once at the summit, we could have the opportunity to admire thetriumphant flight of the Condors.

Kayak through patagonian fjords
Difficulty: High We will depart from the hotel in the morning and head towards Puerto Consuelo, the oldest estancia in Last Hope Province founded in 1893 by the German pioneer Hermann Eberhard. We will paddle for about two hours through the Eberhard Fjord, along the way passing by Puerto Prat, a settlement founded in 1899, and the historic “Island of the Dead”, that was used as a cemetery. In this area of it is possible to see a variety of birds;chilean flamingos, black-necked swans, coscoroba swans, red- gartered coots, and great grebes. We will finally arrive to GuanacoIsland. Here we will admire a panoramic view surrounded by spectacular mountains that have been molded by glacial events and the harsh Patagonian weather. After a break and lunch, wewill paddle back to Puerto Consuelo to finally head to the hotel. • Duration: 7 to 8 hours. • Includes:guide,transportation,wetsuits,gear,safetybriefing,lunch and snack. • A minimum of 2 guests is required. Discovering Torres del Paine National Park
Difficulty: Basic In 1978, UNESCO declared the Torres del Paine National Park a Biosphere Reserve. It has also been voted the Eighth Wonder of the World. We will head northward to the park, stopping atseveral lookouts with breathtaking views of the Paine Massifalong the way. We will see fauna typical of this area – ñandus, or Lesser rhea, foxes and guanacos – and visit the colorful Lakes Nordenskjold, Sarmiento, Pehoé and Grey. We will take a short walk to the Big Falls (Salto Grande) where you can see the Horns (los Cuernos). On the beach at Lake Grey, you will have the chance to witness icebergs calving from the glacier. • Duration: 9 to 10 hours. • Includes:guide,transportation,lunch,snackandparkentrancefee. • A minimum of 2 guests is required. |
Navigating to the local traditions Difficulty: Basic We start the journey by navigating from the surrounds of the hotel to the Estancia La Península, a beautiful ranch located in the Antonio Varas peninsula. Once we get there, you will be welcomed by the locals and then start with the activities; you can choose between horseback riding, trekking, 4×4 four- wheel drive or relaxing time at the estancia. The activities takeapproximately 2 hours and when finished, a delicious traditionallamb barbecue is waiting. After lunch, it’s time to learn about how we work with our sheepdogs, see a shearing of a sheep and learn about the whole process of how we classify the wool. • Duration: 7 hours • Includes: Tour guide from the ranch, boat trip, lunch and snack.• A minimum of 2 guests is required. • This excursion is weather-permitting. |
Navigating to patagonian glaciers.
Difficulty: Basic We will sail through the Patagonian Fjords to the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers. The voyage affords views of colonies of cormorants and sea lions. The trip to Puerto Toro inside of Bernardo O’Higgins National Park takes one hour and 40 minutes. Once we arrive to the port we will disembark and take a 45-minute walk to the lookout point for the Serrano Glacier. Upon returning to the pier, the trip will continue towards theBalmaceda Glacier, which flows from Mount Balmaceda. Thatmarks the end of our journey and we will return to the hotel. Before we return to the hotel, we go to La Península for lunch and activities. • Duration: 9 hours. • Includes: guide, boat trip, lunch, snack and park entrance fee. • A minimum of 5 guests is required. Fly fishing.
Difficulty: Medium Patagonia is a wild and unique territory, worn down by enormous masses of ice that shaped its interesting landscapes. It forms one of the most extreme precipitation gradients in the world. From east to west the landscape is very different – it changes from Patagonian steppe to evergreen forest in less than 125 miles (200 km). It is thought that settlers saw this as an excellent opportunity for the introduction of the voracious Salmonids, which quickly spread andflourished throughout the diverse watercourses of the zone andcreated a paradise for fly-fishing. Within the Salmonids, we will mainlyfind Salmon trutta, known as Fario or the brown trout, coveted by fishermen for its beautiful colors and fierceness. It is also possible to find rainbow trout, Atlantic salmon (Salar salmon), coho salmon,and the mythical king salmon (Chinook). • Duration: 9 – 12 hours • Includes: specialized guide, transportation, fishing gear and clothing, fishing license, lunch and snack Conditions: Available for all guests at additional cost. The Señoret summit 52 m.a.s.l – 1325 m.a.s.lDifficulty: High
This hike begins at the base of Señoret Hill (4,340 feet/1.323 meters), located about 35 kilometers from the hotel near lagunaSofia. Our hike will take us through a dense forest inhabited bydiverse birds and colorful vegetation. Without a trail this will be a tough journey, but we will be rewarded with access to interesting geologic formations. After about 4 hours of hiking (weather depending), we will summit one of the best mountains in the zone and get a 360° panoramic view of Last Hope Province. To the east is the Argentinean town of Río Turbio and to the south is Puerto Natales. To the north the stunning mountain range and glaciers of Torres del Paine National Park. To the west is Last Hope Fjord. We will have lunch at the lookout before descending and returning to the hotel.

Trekking to the base of Torres del Paine
124 m.a.s.l – 890 m.a.s.l Difficulty: High The Torres del Paine are granite monoliths created by the outcropping of an igneous rock that has been eroded by glaciers, rivers and wind over time. This 8-hour round-trip trek begins atthe base of Admiral Nieto Mountain and winds up the AscencioValley to Refugio Chileno. It then continues through a beech forest and ends with a climb up a moraine of large rocks that will bring us to the base of the Towers. Weather permitting, we will be able to see the North Tower, Central Tower and South Tower in all their splendor.

The Water Path trek
300 m.a.s.l – 435 m.a.s.l Difficulty: Medium This excursion is ideal for anyone who wants to see Torres del Paine National Park from a different perspective. The tour will begin at Lazo Ranch, located on the shores of Verde Lagoon. From there we will enter the park, taking a trail that offers uniqueviews, passing by lakes and lagoons and observing local floraand fauna. We will have lunch and rest at mid-day in a lenga forest. The end point is a favorite lookout over Toro Lake, themouth to the Paine River and the Paine Massif. From there willbegin our descent to our pick-up point at Weber Bridge. • Duration: 8 to 9 hours. • Includes: guide, transportation, trekking poles, lunch, snack and the park entrance fee. • A minimum of 2 guests is required. |
HALF DAY EXCURSIONS
Kayak through Señoret channel
Difficulty: Basic We will set out from the shore in front of the hotel and row through the waters of the Señoret channel. This tour is recommendable for both first-time kayakers, as well as those with more experience. The trip takes from one to two hours, depending on expertise. If the winds are blowing in our favor, we will head towards Puerto Natales, cross to the Peninsula or head towards Puerto Condor. Beautiful pictures of the hotel can be taken from the bay. • Duration: 3 to 4 hours.

Getting to know the mythical Milodón
150 m.a.s.l – 190 m.a.s.l Difficulty: Basic The Mylodon Cave National Monument is located 25 kilometers to the northwest of Puerto Natales. It is one of the oldest and most important archeological and paleontological sites in Southern Patagonia. Evidence of a human presence dating back to 11.000 years B.C. has been found in these caves, consisting of extinct fauna such as the Mylodon. The hiking begins at the Small Cave, from where we will forge inward in this important archeological finding. We will then move on to the Middle Cave and end at the Large Cave, which is 200 meters deep, 80 meters wide and 30 meters high. • Duration: 4 hours. • Includes: guide, transportation, snack and park entrance fee. • A minimum of 2 guests is required. |
Condors trek
153 m.s.n.m – 525 m.s.n.m Difficulty: Medium Laguna Sofía, a paleolake, and Benitez Mount, a cliff replete with condor perches, are located 35 kilometers from Puerto Bories. They form part of the paleontological sector home to the Mylodon Cave Natural Monument and rock paintings. Our hike to the summit of Benitez Mount will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. At the summit, we will watch the majestic flight of the condors, usually viewable in this location, in addition to wonderful views of laguna Sofia, Eberhard Fjord and the Señoret channel. After enjoying the scenery, we will descend Benitez Mount and return to the hotel. • Duration: 4 to 5 hours. • Includes: guide, transportation, trekking poles and snack. • A minimum of 2 guests is required. |
Discovering the history of the Cold Storage Plant
Difficulty: Basic We will learn in depth the vestiges of the industrial revolution of 1915, through several machines that gave life to this industrial place managed by the Sociedad Explotadora Tierra del Fuego. We will visit the boilers, engine room, condensors and the workshop. On the outside, we will see the old pier that received hundreds of vessels for the export of products. This visit will revive the history and life of the pioneers sheep farming environment, a place that became the most important meat processing plant of Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia. • Duration: 1-2 hrs. • Includes:guide. |
Cooking lessons
Difficulty: Basic / activity only available in the afternoons Learn how to make baked king crab and lamb empanadas. In the class you learn to prepare the dough of the empanadas, its stretched and cut, as well as to prepare the filling of the empanadas. Once the pre-processing is ready we start to fold the empanadas dough with their respective fillings inside to finally bake them. The class ends tasting the baked empanadas, appetizers and pebre matching all the food prepared by us with some delicious glasses red and white wine. The pioneers walking tour
Difficulty: Basic We will leave the hotel and head 18 kilometers north of Puerto Natales to Puerto Prat, founded in 1899 this a small rural settlement was the first town in Last Hope Province. Once we arrive we will begin our hike to Puerto Consuelo, walking along of the shore of the Eberhard Fjord. From here we will admire the unique Chilean Patagonia landscape that harbors a great history of sovereignty and social development. This area of country traditions and sheep farming, surrounded by large mountain ranges along its horizon, provides a beautiful viewpoint of Torres del Paine National Park. It is also an excellent area for bird watching. • Duration: 2 to 3 hours. • Includes:guide,transportationandsnack. • A minimum of 2 guests is required. |
Getting to know Puerto Natales
Difficulty: Basic We will begin the tour along the shores of the Señoret Channel, enjoying the beautiful landscape visited by zonal birds, such as the black-necked swan. From there we will go to the fishermen’s wharf and then to the main square of the city to see important architecture, such as city hall, built during the Magellanic livestock fever. We will visit the Municipal Museum of History and learn a bit more about the history of Natales. The excursion ends at the Ether Aike Arts and Crafts Village where you can mingle with the local inhabitants.

Bicycle ride Bahia Esperanza (Coming soon)
Difficulty: Medium We will take a boat ride to Estancia Bahia Esperanza. After a dry landing and a short walk we will find our bicycles. We will be riding them along the water front, enjoying 360* views of Puerto Natales, Cerro Dorotean and on clear days, the famous Paine Massif. • Duration: 3 to 4 hours. • Includes: guide, transportation, mountainbike, helmet and snack.

Biking through Puerto Natales
Difficulty: Basic We will leave the hotel by bicycle, pedaling along a gravel road past the farmlands on the outskirts of the city to the city gates.Our ride will take us along the Pedro Montt Coastal Road, roundingthe edge of the Señoret Canal, which offers a spectacular view. From there we go to the heart of the city to see the Arturo PratSquare, the main square of the city, the Municipal Museum of History and the Ether Aike Arts and Crafts Village that definethis city. Horseback riding Sofia lake
Difficulty: Medium This trail ride is appropriate even for novice riders. The ride along the trail is about two hours taking you through lenga and ñirre forests. Mount Benitez is one of the sights along the way, as are the condors that usually fly above it. You will also enter caves located on the laguna Sofia Ranch, where archeologists found the remains of prehistoric animals and of humans dating back 3,900 years. Difficulty: Medium From the hotel we will travel 20 minutes to Estancia Puerto Consuelo, where the Last Hope Province colonization began in 1893. This will be our base camp for this excursion. We will kayak to a number of historic locations along Eberhard Fjord, such as Puerto Prat, founded in 1899 and Krugger Island, known as the “Island of the Dead”, that was used as a cemetery to bury the first settlers. Difficulty: Basic After crossing the Señoret Channel and disembarking in Estancia Bahia Esperanza, we will begin our low difficulty horseback ride. We will be following a cliff that separates the high lands of the ranch from the central depression. To the right and left, we are going to be able to see spectacular Ultima Esperanza fjord, Eberhard fjord, Puerto Natales and the depression that crosses the ranch from north to south, rich in local flora and fauna.

Puerto Bories
Puerto Bories, about 4 km from downtown Puerto Natales, was a small "company town" whose focus was a "frigorifico"—a sheep meat and wool processing plant belonging to the Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego.
