One of the star destinations of South America is San Pedro de Atacama, with its innumerable and incredible geological formations, hot springs, salt flats and volcanoes. San Pedro is also full of archaeological and cultural riches that recall the magnificent past of the Atacama indigenous culture. Its construction, all plastered with mud, is a combination of adobes, stone, straw and wood from the area. Each room is different, with a spatial distribution that develops along small sinuous paths that link them giving both privacy and mystery. This within an extensive terrain and with the impressive scenic frame of the Andes mountain range. When observing it, from the outside, it gives the sensation of being in a small town of the Altiplano.
The decoration was developed under the concept of visual silence, the eye registers the hotel in its entirety included in the vastness of the desert without being distracted by objects except those that imply a usefulness. The hotel also aims to make visitors feel that it is a place that welcomes, allowing enjoyment of silence and sight, refugees from the intense climate of San Pedro.
BEDROOMS
The hotel has 39 rooms arranged in three semicircles, with fields of culture in between. The objective was to develop a private space, content, which allows one to feel sheltered from the strength of the desert.
They are decorated with great simplicity, using different resources of color and form. Inside the room is fresh and cozy, outside each room has a terrace to sit and enjoy the view. Each room is unique, has different layout and decoration. The ancient concept of the use of the rooms as a refuge for the intense sun of the day and the cold of the night was used. For this reason the windows are small and the walls thick; to live the desert you have to go outside.
